  1. How exactly are payouts calculated?

    You earn $1 USD for every order your referred brand ships through Portless, up to $10,000 total per brand. We tally orders at the end of each quarter and pay out what you've earned that quarter — until the brand hits the $10K cap.

  2. When do I get paid?

    At the end of each quarter, once your referral has gone live and shipped orders. Payments are sent via ACH (U.S.) or wire transfer (international). You'll get a statement with each payout showing order counts and the breakdown.

  3. Can I refer multiple brands?

    Yes — as many as you want. Each brand is tracked separately with its own $10,000 cap. Five qualified brands in your network is $50,000 in earnings.

  4. What counts as a qualified referral?

    A referral qualifies when the brand (a) matches our eligibility criteria, (b) isn't already a lead, opportunity, or customer in our CRM at the time you submit, and (c) signs an MSA and ships their first order. We'll confirm qualification status within a few business days.

  5. What if my referral is already talking to Portless?

    If the brand is already in our pipeline when you submit, the referral won't qualify — but we'll tell you right away so you can move on. We check our CRM at submission time, not at close, so there's no ambiguity later.

  6. Are there tax implications?

    Yes. Payouts are taxable income. For U.S. referrers, we'll issue a 1099-NEC for any calendar year in which you earn $600 or more. International referrers are responsible for reporting in their own jurisdiction. We'll collect a W-9 or W-8 before your first payout.

  7. Is there a limit on how long I earn from a referral?

    Yes — you earn $1 per order shipped for 12 months from the brand's go-live date, up to the $10,000 per-brand cap (whichever comes first). After 12 months, that referral closes out — but anything you've already earned stays yours.

  8. What if the brand churns before I get paid?

    You earn on orders actually shipped. If a brand ships 3,000 orders and then churns, you still get paid $3,000 at the next quarterly payout. No clawbacks.
